You may be wondering what Reverse Author Interviews is. Well, it's an event organized by Book Munchies where authors interview the book bloggers for once. There will be multiple blogs interviewed every Tuesday and Friday from various authors such as Marissa Meyer, Molly Harper, Cinda William Chima, and much more!
So I'm starting off with YA author Kim Harrington!
How do you find out about new books? Blogs, browsing a physical bookstore, chatting with friends, etc.
Let's see...my main way of finding out about new books is through various book blogs that I follow through the Waiting on Wednesday meme or their own posts of releases. It's actually quite useful. Learn about new books almost every time. Since I have started my own blog I have been posting the new releases for each week as well and that's a huge way of informing myself. I obviously miss some, and that's where the blogs that I follow come in. There are also my friends on Goodreads; someone is always marking down books as-to read and I always check them out to see if I would be interested as well. If I lived in a place where book releases where up to date I would be in book stores browsing all the time, but that's not possible for me unfortunately.
Do you prefer series, standalones, or a mix of both?
When I started out reading a lot I preferred reading series, cause I liked getting into the world and staying with those characters for as long as possible. This was back when I didn't follow any blogs and I didn't keep up with new releases. Now, because of the sheer amount of new books I'm always discovering, I get impatient and want to read all of them and well I obviously can't (though I'm trying my best ;)) Therefore, I'm starting to lean more towards standalones or trilogies. Nothing too long unless it's an amazing series like Kresely Cole's IAD series. Those I wouldn't mind if they went on indefinitely. I just love that world :)
